Spiritual Progress... A Bit Like Vacuuming?

Yesterday I finished vacuuming up the copious amounts of fur my dogs shed every hour of every day. It felt good to have clean floors! But as I walked back to where I keep the vacuum cleaner, GASP, I saw more hair. I was sure - like REALLY sure - it wasn't there two minutes earlier. But there it was, a little piece of fur... and a few inches away, a little piece of dirt. Grrr!

Insight

The inner cleanup job of clearing out old beliefs, past stories, and past thinking is a lot like my vacuum experience. Just when you think you’ve got all the crud that holds you back, you find yourself stepping on new "crumbs." This IS NOT a setback; it’s an opportunity to go deeper.

Your spiritual journey is an ongoing process of discovery. It's not a linear, one-and-done project. Every crumb you find is a chance to deepen your self-awareness and move closer to the truth that will set you free

Reflection: Look back at 2023. How does this insight resonate with your experiences?

Contemplate

Can you recall a recent moment when you thought you had cleared all obstacles on your spiritual path? What new “crumbs” did you discover later? How did uncovering these new morsels make you feel? Were you frustrated, or did you see it as an opportunity to learn more and release more?

What does this ongoing process of discovery and release tell you about the nature of spiritual growth? How can you embrace this continuous journey with patience and self-kindness?

Prompt: How does this awareness help me view each discovery, each “crumb,” not as a burden but as a gift?

Integrate

This week, when you stumble upon a new “crumb” on your path, pause. Reflect on it, welcome it, and then release it with a newfound understanding. It’s a sign that you’re evolving, growing, and moving closer to your true self. Reply to this email to let me know how it went!

Take heart! Every unexpected discovery you make about yourself, no matter how small, is an opportunity to let go more, release more, surrender more, and grow more.

Big love,
Susie
