Liminal Cresent Moon

This morning a bright waning crescent moon hangs in the sky like an almost empty bowl. All week I've watched her reduce herself.

In a couple of days she'll have emptied herself to the point that she disappears altogether.

We celebrate full moons and new moons. But what about emptying moon. She is neither beginning nor end.

She is LIMINAL MOON, full of wisdom about slow release into disappearing.

We are on a journey with her. Being with her in-between space feels important and it's such a sweet spot in our travels -- but sometimes we stay there too long.

The idea of full release into disappearing can be frightening, triggering resistance when the "why" is not understood.

"It's all for you, my love," sings Liminal Moon, "to help you drop everything that veils your eyes from beholding the bridge that would lead you out of the betwixt. To loosen what keeps you stuck between a reality in which you see only little sparks and the Great Reality in which you are the flame."

Time is kind and Liminal Moon comforts us with her cyclical allowing of emptying, again and again. Each month a reminder, a symbol to help us remember that we must empty before we can be filled.

The secret to emptying is forgiveness. It is the only thing that truly dissolves what we hang onto. The secret to forgiveness is to let go of the past. The secret to letting go of the past is to live fully in the present moment.

We need not fear the disappearing -- we are eternal. What we can see only when we've reduced ourselves is where our true home lies.

“Isa, Son of Mariam (Jesus, Son of Mary) said: The world is a bridge, pass over it, but build no houses on it.” –Persian inscription on the Buland Darwaza in India

January's new moon, this year, takes place on 1/11. How perfectly orchestrated is our disappearance into a divine portal of possibility? Let Liminal Moon guide you and be not afraid when things begin to fall away (or fall apart!).

Go all in and something deep inside might shift, opening the door to the bridge you've been seeking.

You are never alone and you are so loved.
