Could you stop the sun from rising? A winter solstice message.

Solstice blessings my friends!

This time of year is so incredibly fertile for bringing darkness to the light. It's a time when destruction and renewal dance. Dark and light play.

Our most transformative growth comes when we learn to allow this in our interior life. When we welcome it all, even when it's uncomfortable and infuriating. I remind myself to welcome even the one who thinks she could stop the sun from rising.

From my heart to yours:

Could You Stop the Sun From Rising?

The darkness comes on bended knee
before Winter's Solstice.
To say to the coming light,
I'm ready for you to shine on me.

Each day a little brighter
showing me what I already know
but deeply fear.

The night creatures tremble and moan
to hear such surrender.
We are not meaningless they howl.

We are the essence,
the starless sky.

Believing their fear
Darkness summons her power
And with fierce resolve
tries to keep out the light.

But her invitation
already cracked open the night.
A gateway for something more.

Light pours in.
Sweet darkness, did you think
you could stop what has already happened?

In growing joy and expanding peace, Susie
